ABOUT THE SESSION

Effective 1 January 2020, new employment rules will enter into force aiming to improve the balance between flexible and permanent employment agreements.
These new rules include an extension of maximum duration of fixed-term contracts to 36 months, changes in statutory severance and a new dismissal ground.
The Balanced Labour Market Act entails significant changes and companies need to consider how this will affect their Dutch operations.
