Info Table: Speech technology helps my mother with Alzheimer’s disease – Care-Riing

May 23, 2019, 17:00 - 19:00

My mother suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. She has lived in a care home since 2017. On a daily bases she suffers anxiety (feels unsafe, in need for social interaction). For both my mother and our family this is very impactful. We call daily and visit her weekly. This helps my mother, but there are numerous moments during the day we can’t comfort her.

For 2 months now we’ve found a solution for this: namely a ‘simulated telephone call’. Using speech technology I can answer frequently asked questions and I raise subjects she likes to talk about.
This is effective!! My voice calms her down and offers safety. The psychologist refers to the solution as a ‘very intelligent answering machine’. When I replay the recorded conversation, it makes my happy hearing her talk enthusiastically again.

Speech technology can help people with Alzheimer’s disease. This really helps my mother and our family. Now we want to help others. Sign up for the pilot. Send a message to

Our mission is the improve to quality of life of people with Alzheimer’s and their family by enabling engaging conversations
