Break Out: What is the Return on Data for the citizen in the Fourth Industrial Revolution? – Data Driven Health Lab

May 16, 19:00 - 19:45

There is a growing awareness that health data is a valuable asset. The Data Driven Health lab community-ship shares knowledge about quality assurance of lab data that is FAIR available for multiple analysis re-use.

Examples for DNA analysis are related to:

  • Fun heritage (myHeritage, 23andMe)
  • Lifestyle and personalized nutrition (Omnigen)
  • Medical research and diagnostic/disease (Personalized Medicine)

All this data belongs to a person. The value creation that is possible with this personal data and connected communities should be transparent. This data should be curated by design for the citizen and treated as an asset. The challenge is that the vast majority of leaders today lack confidence that their organizations are ready to harness the changes associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The Fourth Industrial Revolution represents entirely new ways in which technology becomes embedded within societies and even our human bodies. Examples include genome editing, new forms of machine intelligence, breakthrough materials and approaches to governance that rely on cryptographic methods such as the blockchain.
