Break Out: Potential Applications Using Quantum Dots – Quantag

November 10, 2016, 16:00 - 17:00

Barcodes are widely used for long time to identify goods. There are various types of barcodes; 1D, 2D, RFID etc. However most of these are limited for solid products or packages. Quantag has developed a technology to write barcodes directly in the liquid products by employing fluorescent nanoparticles (Quantum Dots ) as digital tags and fiber optical sensor as barcode readers.
Quantum dots (QDs) are tiny semiconductors that gain attention of researchers in recent years and they find their way in lots of applications such as displays, security, bio-imaging/bio-detection, energy and sensors.
With its technology for barcoding liquids Quantag have the infrastructure to produce these revolutionary QDs in large scales with low costs. In addition Quantag has developed ultra-sensitive sensors that can detect these QDs in sub ppm levels. These developments open up space for potential applications in many areas including security applications (counterfeiting, authentication), bio imaging, bio sensing, solar energy and many other sensors.
In this talk Eren and Emre from Quantag will present the technology and main applications and will discuss about potential applications. They would like to discuss with audience about potential applications and collaboration opportunities.
