Break Out: A new era of sustainability with technology and nature-inspired solutions – Women in 3D Printing

February 28, 18:30 - 19:30

Lilian van Daal sees herself as a mediator between nature-inspired and traditional design making. She experiments with innovative technologies and materials in order to create new shapes and structures. With the resulting objects, she aspires to provide insights and contribute to more sustainable production methods. She believes in nature-inspired solutions and organic processes; looking at the ordinary from a new perspective to deliver new approaches and opportunities.

With her work, she won the Public Award Ontwerp en Innovatieprijs Gelderland, the Volvo Design Challenge 2015 and the Bio Art and Design Award 2016. Her work has been exhibited in Milan, Vienna, Madrid, Peru, Argentine and several places in The Netherlands. In 2017 her work ‘Shapes of Sweden’ has been purchased for the private collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, France.

Women in 3D Printing is a global organization dedicated to promoting, supporting, and inspiring women who are using Additive Manufacturing technologies. Our mission is to increase the visibility of women in the Additive Manufacturing industry and encourage more women to use 3D Printing technologies.
